Operating Principle
The ST80 device operates based on thermal dispersion technology. It uses two temperature sensors: one is heated, and the other is unheated (reference temperature of the flow). As gas flows past the sensors, heat is drawn away from the heated sensor, changing the temperature difference between the two sensors. The degree of this temperature difference is directly proportional to the velocity and mass of the gas flow.
The FCI ST80 also utilizes proprietary Adaptive Sensor Technology (AST), which allows the device to operate effectively across a wide range of flow rates, from low to high flows.
